Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced SVP of Technology to lead all technology-related activities for the company including setting strategy, developing the technology product roadmap, hiring and leading a small team of software engineers, and working with partners and vendors to integrate 3<sup>rd</sup> party components. You will lead the design and architecture of both the frontend and backend of our current and future technology products. The ideal candidate is a visionary leader that understands our industry, the business goals of our company, and the needs of our clients, and uses this knowledge to continually improve our technology and keep us ahead of the curve.

As a technical leader, you understand and can translate business needs into attainable technology solutions that help to grow and scale our business. You will manage our outsourced development team and have the leadership skills necessary to build and lead an internal team within one year. This role is a critical managerial position in the coming months as the technical complexity scales and our user numbers grow. A successful candidate must be able to combine informed strategic thinking with hands-on team leadership and (where required) software development. We're ultimately looking for someone who can take ownership of development and pull in appropriate resources as needed. We expect you to own all technical aspects of a product, from mapping of value proposition to technical requirements, to architecture design to integrations.



  • Define and execute the technology strategy for the company, including identifying technology platforms for use in our development, project managing development plans, creating timelines for delivery, and building in the necessary compliance, security, and regulatory aspects of the business
  • Build, manage, and validate a tech roadmap for products to achieve annual and long-term strategic goals 
  • In partnership with senior management, identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s services, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace obstacles and technical hurdles to business success
  • Work across teams as necessary to create financial projections for business initiatives, including cost/benefit analyses
  • Plan the technology budget, manage costs, and execute within budget and in alignment with growth and strategic plans
  • Assist with strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timelines for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all technology and related services
  • Manage in-house company systems infrastructure
  • Hire a team of exceptional software engineers (first external, then internal). Lead the software engineering team, mentoring and growing individuals. Help ensure that performance and succession plans are effective.
  • Make informed, pragmatic decisions about software architecture and execution path 
  • Analyze and decide upon 3rd party software components 
  • Liaise effectively with vendors and clients 
  • Deliver high quality internal and external technical documentation
  • Find new ways to improve our product(s) 
  • Identify technology trends and evolving social behavior that may support or impede the success of the business, and recommend technology solutions
  • Collaborate with the appropriate departments to assess and recommend technologies that support company organizational needs
  • Lead all projects, change initiatives, and communication concerning technology. Communicate the company’s technology strategy to investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop talent externally and/or internally to help ensure performance and succession plans are effective
  • Establish a governance process that meets government, partner, and company expectations for customer information privacy
  • Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide information security plan that protects the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the company’s data and servers
  • Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and technical knowledge, and develop features to align with business goals
  • Incorporate best practices for accessibility, usability, web performance, and design into the BullsBridge investment platform and ultimately champion a more consistent and delightful user experience



  • Proven success as a CTO for a financial institution or FinTech company or situated where the CTO role is your most appropriate and immediate next step in your career trajectory
  • 4+ years of management experience in a relevant technology role
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or equivalent experience
  • Prior startup experience
  • Experience with turning wireframes and mockups into elegantly executed code
  • Ability to manage people and also add value as an active, hands-on individual contributor of a small team
  • Ability to write clear, well-organized, scalable highly performing code
  • Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences 
  • Results oriented, with the ability and flexibility to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate well up, down, and cross functionally while building consensus and inspiring others to achieve great things
  • Ability to distill and communicate complex information to a diverse audience of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience with new product development and implementation 
  • Demonstrated ability to define and successfully deliver complex projects with superior ROI - from business case development through deployment
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to distill, synthesize, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data
  • Ability to connect the core business activities with technological solutions
  • Enthusiasm about and knowledge of the Real Estate, Private Equity, Wealth Management and/or Financial Services industries
  • Collaborative problem solving skills and eagerness to solve challenging problems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team and an interest to work in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Experience of working with mobile
  • Ability to be both strategic (roadmaps, architectures, planning, etc.) and tactical (scope specs, review code, etc.) with respect to the activities of the Technology Team.
